The main versions of Windows 7 are:
Windows 7 Ultimate: This has all the features of Windows operating systems, it also has the BitLocker Drive Encryption.
Windows 7 Enterprise: Available for customers who purchased software assurance from Microsoft, it also has the BitLocker Drive Encryption, there is no retail copy for this version.
Windows 7 Professional: Well used in the corporate environment.
Windows 7 Home Premium: Mostly for home users, joining a domain and the group policy settings are not available on this version.

Windows 7 Starter: This is limited in features
